Smithsonian National Zoological Park
The "National Zoo" offers a collection of more than 3,000 exotic animals, birds and reptiles. Amazonia is a re-creation of the world's largest rain forest. Open: Daily: grounds 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 16-Apr. 14 and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Apr. 15-Oct. 15; animal buildings open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. year round unless otherwise posted.
