The National Portrait Gallery is  housed in the historic Old Patent Office Building. The museum is highlighted by the Hall Of Presidents which is the nation's collection of the official portraits of the Presidents. Other exhibits include a collection of art depicting notable Americans and a collection of Civil War photographs including the works of Matthew Brady. Open: Daily 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (except December 25); extended summer hours determines annually.
